To a very special woman, Hello, we are Michelle and Robin. First we would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this. Secondly and most important, we want to acknowledge and honor the brave and selfless decision you are in the process of making. Robin‚s Birth Mother did the same thing for her over 40 years ago  and for that act of love, Robin has been forever grateful! We appreciate you considering us as possible parents for your baby. We realize that this is an emotional and difficult time for you, and we respect your desire to make the best possible choice foryour child, with the information you are given.  We have been inseparable since we met in 2002 and celebrated our love and respect for each other in a commitment ceremony in 2003. We are surrounded by loving friends and family who support us in our commitment to each other, as well as our deep desire to share our lives with a child. Our values are simple- respect yourself and others, value knowledge, find joy and purpose in life through art, music and creativity, and give back to your community through compassion and awareness. We own our home in Sebastopol, Sonoma County CA. and live in a peaceful country setting on an acre with Redwoods and fruit trees. There is plenty of safe space to run, play and explore. We are friends with our neighbors who have young children of their own, including a new born and we have our own extended family very close by. About Robin: I am a self employed businessperson, and a professional musician for the past 28 years. I was adopted and raised in Pleasanton, Ca. My mother and father were together until his death 5 years ago. I consider myself very fortunate to have had a childhood filled with love. My father was a Doctor and a pilot and my mother was a nurse. Because of his love of airplanes we flew to many destinations and traveled a lot, which increased my passion for reading and culture in other countries. I left home and moved to Sonoma County to go to college which is where I have settled down. I own a retail gift shop close to our home, as well as a bar and restaurant. My hours are flexible and I look forward to sharing my love and knowledge of music with our child. I have had the fortune of touring with different bands and learning the recording business as well. My father bought me my first guitar when my mother wanted me to take up something besides violin. I have been playing ever since and developed a passion for everything involving music. I love to read, and have an insatiable curiosity about our world and everything in it.   As I have stated in the beginning, I was an adopted child myself, and feel so fortunate to have had the opportunities, support, and unconditional love that my parents gave me. My mother is in good health, active, and loves both me and Michelle very much. She looks very forward to becoming a new Grandma. Michelle and I also love to travel and we want to share the experiences of other cultures and countries with a child, as my parents so generously did with me.   About Michelle: I was born in New York and raised in Sebastopol, CA. from the time I was 3 years old. My mother was the most amazing woman I have ever known and she raised me and my two sisters by herself. The biggest lesson she taught all three of us was to respect ourselves and each other. The greatest gift she gave us was love. We lost her to illness when we were in our mid 20's and as a result of her shared strength we continue to be very close and supportive of each others lives. Losing her was the single hardest thing I have ever endured, and having the opportunity to some day be half the mother she was to my sisters and I is a beautiful way to honor her spirit. Because my Mom was a single parent, she reached out for the help of our local Methodist church which embraced us as their own. We spent many years going on snow trips with the Youth Group, doing bake sales, singing in the choir and putting on plays. These are some of the most beautiful memories I have and thanks to our mother and the church family,  although we were very poor, we never felt we were missing out! Through her guidance and the guidance and love of my sisters, I feel I became a productive and compassionate adult.  I went to school and received Early Childhood Education credits while working in Pre-Schools locally. My love of children and a desire to make a difference in their lives has always been with me. I have been in banking for the last 15 years and 3 years ago I was promoted to Administrative Assistant of 25 North Coast branches of Washington Mutual Bank. I love my position there, as it is a creative  and challenging opportunity for me daily. I am artistic, passionate, and spiritual. I love the sound of laughter, the sand beneath my feet, poetry and music. I am a person with a huge desire and passion to share these things with a child of my own. I have tried unsuccessfully to become pregnant over this last year and with Robin and her Mom as an example of how true and right adoption can be, I am thrilled at the possibility of the chance to raise a child ourselves through adoption. My family consists of my youngest sister Sherrie, a talented and established singer, who tours the country working with people in recovery and lives on a beautiful ranch in Colorado. It makes for great vacations!  My oldest  sister Christie is also in banking and the glue of the family; my brother in law Kris, has been a source of strength and a devoted family man; and my beloved nieces Courtney,15 and Cassie,11 have brought an immeasurable amount of joy to all of our hearts!! We all anticipate a beautiful addition to our loving and connected family. Our commitment: Michelle- The most important things in my life are my partner Robin, her Mom, my family and my dear friends. Robin has made me a better version of myself and I am deeply affected by her unfailing love and devotion to me and our commitment to each other.
