We are Lynne Pereira, Melinda Piper, and William Piper Pereira.  Lynne and Melinda met 23 years ago through a mutual friend.  We have been together as a couple for over 21 years now.  We were blessed with William 4 years ago.  Lynne carried William and we are unable to become pregnant again.  We feel strongly that our family is not finished growing yet and eagerly await a second child.  We are family-centered, fun-loving, and enjoy many friends.  William cannot wait to have a new playmate – we know he’ll be a fantastic big brother!

Our Community

We live in Burlingame, California, a family-oriented town about 15 miles from San Francisco.  Our large backyard is a great place for kids to romp and explore and we’ve recently added a fun play structure.  We have a special room in our home just waiting to be turned into a nursery for our new little one.  Our quite street is just four blocks from the park and recreation center where we love to play soccer, have picnics, and meet friends; and we are just three blocks from the school the kids will attend.  We love being within walking distance of the quaint downtown area of Burlingame with it’s ice cream shop and weekend Farmer’s Market.

Our Family

We have close relationships with our immediate families and everyone is thrilled about a new baby coming in to our family through open adoption.  Lynne’s mom and sister live just 3 hours away and we get together once a month.  Melinda’s parents have recently moved into our backyard guest house and are excited about being hands-on grandparents.  Melinda’s brother and his family live in Washington where we love to visit.  Lynne’s extended family has a reunion every 4th of July in Carmel, California.  We love to get together to play and have a big barbeque on the beach.  Melinda’s extended family has their reunion every two years.  Hopefully we’ll be able to take our new baby to the next one!

Melinda is an honest and thoughtful person and also a very loyal friend.  She’s quiet and tends to be a little shy but also has a great sense of humor and appreciates silliness, playing, and good jokes.  She worked for several years as a physical therapist but currently enjoys STAYING AT HOME with William and will continue to stay home with his soon-to-be sibling.  Melinda loves spending her day caring for William, playing together, and teaching him to make good choices.  I look forward to seeing her play peek-a-boo and patty-cake with a baby again.

Lynne is outgoing, friendly, and loves meeting new people.  She’s also a generous and loyal friend.  With a career in Human Resources, Lynne knows how to communicate well – which is a huge benefit at work as well as at home!  Our relationship remains healthy and happy because we talk about everything.  Lynne works hard to support our family then loves to come home and play and get silly with William.  He loves having his one-on-one time with her and I can’t wait to see our next child develop his or her own special relationship with Lynne.

William is an enthusiastic and happy kid.  He loves to be around other children and his extended family.  William loves playing with cars, swinging, playing with friends, riding his “big red car,” and the Wiggles TV show.  He also loves to play baseball, basketball, and soccer.  Swimming, bowling, reading books (well, having books read to him), and story time at the library are also favorite activities.  William started pre-school last year and loves it!  He’s looking forward to having a baby brother or sister and has even started pretending to play with his new sibling.
