About Us: We grew up in San Jose, California and both had wonderful, happy childhoods that included family and good friends. Dan was involved in sports - playing little league baseball and high school football. Renee danced from the time she was three years old and loved playing with her friends. We met as high school sophomores and Renee is sure it was 'love at first sight'. We began dating the next year and by the time junior prom rolled around we were sure we would be together forever. We've now been married for seven years and we will be thrilled to bring a child into our loving and supportive family. Our Work: Renee has taught elementary special education for ten years, working with kindergarten - 3rd grade students. After working in business, Dan decided to pursue a more fulfilling caree as a teacher. He now enjoys teaching special needs students at our local hight school. Renee will become a STAY AT HOME MOM once our child arrives, and Dan's teaching schedule will allow lots of Dad time. We'll all enjoy summer vaction together, and are already thinking about trips to Lake Tahoe, Hawaii, and Italy. Our Home: We live an hour north of San Francisco and a half hour from the beach. We look forward to taking our child to festivals and parades in our town as well as family picnics at the beach to search for seashells. There are several young families in our neighborhood with children playing in front yards and parks across the street. Our backyard has a tree that is just waiting for a tree house and all the treasures our child will keep there. Our niece and nephews have made good use of our grassy backyard and look forward to having a new cousin join in the fun. they love to kick the ball around with Dan while Renee mans the barbeque. They've also ensured that our home is property "baby-proof". Family and Friends Renee's family lives here in Winsor and Dan's family is just a short drive away. This makes getting together easy and we're able to have dinner with Renee's family once a week. We look forward to this being a fun time for our child to play with his or her cousin, Chelsea. We have a monthly birhday celebation with Dan's family and freuently get together at Michael and Brendan (our nephews) little leaque games or just to say "hi". One of Dan's brothers is adopted and we've seen first-hand how adoption can make a family complete. All of our friends and family are excited that we've chosen to adopt. They are already preparing baby toys and clothes for ys. Dan's mom has even offered to help decorate the nursery! Dan's extended family in Italy is also anxious to have a new American family member so we'll soon plan a trip for special little one to meet them. For Fun: We enjoy taking day trips to Norther California. We can't wait to play with our child at Bodega beach and build snowmen at Lake Tahoe. Christmas light in San Francisco and holiday shopping will be so much more special with our child. And, we'll be happy to finally have a good excuse to go to all of those Disney movies we love!
